Henriette Rose Morris Katz, 99, long-time resident of the Jersey Shore, died peacefully on April 17, 2024.
Honey, as she was known to all, was born and raised in New York City and spent her youth living between Brooklyn and Bronx. During World War II she worked at Fort Monmouth as a draftsman, helping to design ways to integrate military equipment into space-challenged areas of naval vessels. She met the love of her life, Charles Katz, on a blind date in Belmar; sparks flew and they married and raised their family in Long Branch. Honey helped Charles in his business in Long Branch for many years, after which she worked as an artist creating beautiful watercolors, as well as applying her skills designing signage for retail applications.
She was adored by all as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Henriette is predeceased by her loving husband of 76 years, Charles Katz, and survived by her son Allan Katz and daughter- in-law Star; her daughter Myra Katz and son-in-law Michael Dickson; her grandchildren, Sebastian and Lara Katz, Zachary Katz and Alexandria Brummell, Christopher Jason Dickson and April Joy Damian-Dickson, and Joseph Dickson; her great- grandchildren, Elliotte, Benjamin, Carter and Josephine Katz.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 19 at 10:00am at Brothers of Israel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
