Irma Naar, 82, of Cliffwood, NJ died on Friday, December 6.
Irma was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the late Adolph Coupeaux and Mariante Fiotte.
Irma was deeply religious. She had a warm, gentle and kind spirit. To know her was to love her. She was incredibly forgiving and focused on the good in the people in her life. She was a true Angel of Love.
Irma was widowed only a week before passing to join her husband of 59 years.
In addition to working full-time as a seamstress and sewing machine operator, she was a full-time wife and mother. She loved her family fiercely and completely, often sacrificing her needs to ensure that her family was taken care of first. During the final stages of her life, she found comfort from her nephew, Lesly Champagne, her sister-in-law and mentor, Madeleine Naar and her nephews Reginald Naar and Yvan Guillaume.
Surviving are her twin daughters, Marilyn Naar-Kelly and Miriam Naar-Jones, Marilyn’s husband, Byron Kelly, three grandchildren Kayd, John Anthony, and Damien, and great-grandchild Kayla.
At the request of the family, all services for Irma will be held privately. In lieu of traditional remembrances, Irma’s family asks with gratitude that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).
