Jack N. Hon, 92 of West Long Branch died on Saturday May 13th at the Arnold Walter Nursing Home.
He retired as a builder for Baker Co., Stamford CT, where Jack built the first condominium complex in New York State. Jack had a mechanical mind and would study all types of building , including reading the technical manuals. He built his own home, loved to cook his native South West Tex-Mex food, including his family favorite fajitas.
As a young man he was a great baseball player and had been drafted by the Giants, to play Triple A baseball, but unfortunately injuries from a car accident altered his chances. His love of baseball continued throughout his life he Jack also enjoyed basketball, football and enjoyed watching golf.
Jack was a fan of listening to talk radio especially if it was in favor of the Republicans, or a baseball game.
Jack was pre-deceased by his daughter, Kerry Elfstrom in 2017.
Surviving are his sons Mika and his wife Melanie Hon, West Long Branch and Scott Warren, Tucson, AZ; his brother Gordon and his wife Marsha Hon, Texas and his sister Linda Hill, Michigan; and his two grandsons, Eric Elfstrom and Nicholas Elfstrom. Jack is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
