Jacquelyn B. Learsch, 92, of Holmdel died peacefully Friday, March 17th surrounded by her loving family.
Jacquelyn was born in Newark, NJ. She graduated from East Side High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in both teaching and music from Montclair State University in 1952.
Soon after graduation, she married her college sweetheart and love of her life, the late F. Robert Learsch. They later moved to Middletown where they raised their family. She would go on to work as a kindergarten, first and second grade teacher in the Ocean Avenue School in Middletown for 35 years.
Jacquelyn had an upbeat personality and could put a smile on anyone’s face. She was an avid reader and card player. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, boating and cats. She was the original NY Yankees’ number one fan. Attending Yankee games with her father as a child were some of her fondest memories. Jackie would never miss a game and was up to date on all the player’s stats. She found happiness gathering with girlfriends for lunch and traveling. Her family was of the utmost importance to her and described as an exceptional mother.
Jacquelyn is predeceased by her loving husband, F. Robert Learsch. She is survived by her loving children: her son Robert Learsch of Florida, and daughters Susan Stampfli of Holmdel and Karen Konrad and her husband Thomas of Seaford, NY; and her adoring grandchildren: Kristy Konrad, Robert Learsch Jr., Justin and Austin Stampfli. She will be dearly missed by all who were privileged to know her.
A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, March 22nd from 11am-1pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. To share a memory or send a message of condolence to the family, please visit Jacquelyn’s tribute page at www.holmdelfuneralhome.com.
