James F. Mohan, 86, of Colts Neck, formerly of Deal, returned to God Friday, February 25 surrounded by family. He loved and was loved.
He was born in the Bronx to the late Dianne and James Mohan. James graduated from Long Branch High School and shortly after, honorably served his country in the US Marine Corps. He met the love of his life and they started a family together, raising their kids in Deal. James worked for IBEW 400 for many years, working on various projects for numerous companies.
He enjoyed hiking extensively throughout Monmouth County, he had one of the most envious flower gardens in the neighborhood, and enjoyed traveling the world that included riding elephants in Asia, prayed with Buddhist Monks, and walked with penguins in Antarctica. His favorite view was Machu Picchu, Peru. Jim loved renovation projects and you could always find him fixing or tinkering around the house. Most of all, Jim was always happiest around his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren.
James is predeceased by his parents and his twin brother Thomas Mohan. Also surviving is a brother Daniel Mohan, Las Vegas, NV.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Geraldine O’Brien Mohan, and children Colleen and her husband William Donovan of Fair Haven, and Timothy Mohan of Wharton, and five grandchildren Elizabeth, Nicholas, Megan Mohan and Aidan, and Maureen Donovan.
