James Howell Brown, 91, of Oceanport, died on Sunday, September 29.
James was born in Long Branch to the late Florence Anna and Howell Demarest Brown.
He was raised in Monmouth County and following the Marine Corps, he worked on Outboard Motors for 10 years. James was an exercise enthusiast, running many local 5k races, and 50km race walks. He also enjoyed reading fiction and working on his yard and his house. His greatest joy was spending his life with his Evelyn, taking care of her every need.
He is predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife Evelyn Eva Brown, his sister Elizabet Olsen, and his nephews, Stanley Olsen and Bryan Olsen.
Surviving are his nephews Arnie, Bruce, Glenn, and Scotty Olsen, and Larry and Danny Russomano, and Jack Piermatti.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 3 from 9 – 10 am at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am at St. Dorothea’s Church, Eatontown. Entombment will be in Woodbine Mausoleum.
