James M. Hadam, 52, of Somerville and Long Branch, passed away, Tuesday May 4th at his home in Long Branch surrounded by his family and friends. Jimmy was born in Plainfield, raised in South Plainfield and graduated South Plainfield High School, in 1976. He was a graduate of Kean University with a BA degree. He was a Contract Specialist for AT&T, Bedminster, NJ. Jimmy enjoyed the beach, skiing and spending time with his family, especially his two beautiful daughters Taylor and Jodi. He was an avid fan of Rutgers Football and the NY Giants. Surviving is his wife Stephanie Sehein Hadam; two daughters Taylor and Jodi Hadam, Bridgewater, NJ; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley and Patricia Hadam, Medford, NJ and John and Karen Hadam, Calais, ME; his sister, Cynthia Hadam and her companion Frank Giannaci, Bradley Beach; mother-in-law, Cathy Markow; one nephew Jesse Runyan and four nieces Kristina, Lauren, Tara and Brigit Hadam. Visitation will be Friday May 7th, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 8th, 9:30 AM, Church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach. My condolences to the Hadam family. I had the honor and priviledge to work with Jim on a number of projects throughout his career at AT&T and always found him to be the consummate professional.

Dearest Cousin Jimmy, You were always smiling and happy. So full of life, laughter and love. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to speak with you on the phone a couple days before you left this earth and to tell you how much I loved you! Even though you were weak I heard you say my name loud and clear. Rest now my sweet cousin. I look forward to seeing you again someday! Love always, Kris

I have lost my dear brother Jimmy - the light of my life. My brother, my friend and my confidant. All the dinners that we shared at Frank's house, the cold tap beer, Jimmy sneaking Reese's peanut butter cups before dinner always made me giggle - you thought no one noticed. You always told me not to cook so much, but I did it for you and your girls. My heart is broken in a thousand pieces and I will miss you terribly until I leave this planet. I know I promised you to look after the girls, and I will keep my promise. Thnak you for getting me up on ski's this year. Even though I was scared, you encouraged me. I know now that you are with mommy and daddy and at peace. No more stress Jim. I love you forever. Your favorite sister, Cindy.

Jim, I hope you know that you succeeded in making a positive, lasting impression on everyone that you came into contact with here at AT&T. It’s hard for me to accept that the cube next to me will never be filled by your smiling, cheery attitude anymore. I still have the $5 you gave me that morning when you came to my cube confessing about eating half my candy jar the night before! And, I remember how you teased my 7yr old daughter with those peanut M&M’s when I brought her to work with me! You will be greatly missed here. I will always cherish the wonderful memories I have of jimmy - weekends at the Poconos, good times at the beach, and, of course, all the parties. He was certainly part of the "Bush" family. I will miss him dearly. May he rest in peace.

I worked with Jim a little over a year and he was always so nice to talk to. I valued his friendship even though he and I never met face to face. (I work in St. Louis.) Our loss is small compared to your, but please know that we do share in your loss. My condolences, Pat

Jim was a wonderful friend and coworker. I didn't know him very long, but he always lit up everyone's day. He will be sorely missed.

Though I've only met Jimmy a few times (Stephanie and I have been friends for many years) I knew he was a good guy the first time I met him. The Hadam Family - I am so sorry for your loss and I pray that the Lord would bring comfort to each one of you. Please know that Jim was an awesome man and that he touched many lives... he couldn't be the person that he was without the influence of each one of you. He sat near me at AT&T and was a very nice and entertaining person. He killed the spiders for us, ate up the chocolate (after we'd gone for the day)and then apologize for it later. He cracked me up with his singing (needed help with keeping the tune) and was just a wonderful person. We missed him since February, but we miss him more now. Take care of yourselves and remember that he was loved and appreciated by many.

Jim was always such a positive personality to be around. I couldn't believe when you cooked that huge tray of perogies to bring to my parents house. They were the best I ever tasted! And of course we couldn't have them without sour cream and applesauce. You and Stan made my Dad's day with your visits. You made sure that we all had to have a beer, do shots, and make a toast! I'm so glad that we got that as a Kodak Moment. I met Jim over 10 years ago and got along great from the start. I left ATT for 6 years and recently returned. Jim welcomed me back with open arms and a big smile. I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START. I COULD GO ON AND ON ABOUT THINGS HE TAUGHT AND DID WITH ME AS A BOY. HE WAS MY UNCLE/FATHER. THE LINE WAS "HE TOOK ME FROM A BOY TO A MAN SO I ALWAYS HAD A FATHER WHEN MY BIOLIGICAL DIDNT BOTHER" AND I NEED HIM TO KNOW AS LONG AS IM HERE HES ALIVE INSIDE ME, AND I HOPE ONE DAY I HAVE AS GREAT AN IMPACT ON SOMEONES LIFE AS HE DID FOR ME. Jim was one of my dear friends at work. He always has a smile on his face and a kind word for all. Jim turned me on to the many restaurants and surf spots for my family surf vacation in Rincon, Puerto Rico and I always gave him my issues of Surfer Magazine after I was done reading with them. We were always planning to go to the beach surfing together followed by a few drinks at Charlie's. Although, unfortunately, we won't be able to physically fulfill those plans, he will be in my heart and mind every time I paddle out into the ocean and we WILL have that drink together if only in the spirt of friendship and rememberance!! I know Jim from our many days at AT&T before I retired. He was a good guy, very funny, always talked lovingly about his girls. We had worked on a few projects together over the years. I had the pleasure of growing with Jimmy and being his neighbor not once but twice. Growing up, I remember him always laughing and teasing me for one reason or another. We met on the day his parents brought him home from the hospital to Greenwich Street, we were best friends through our school years, and later became family. We shared the pain of losing parents and the joys of having our children. I will cherish the memories that we created and will always remember the loving friend, neighbor, brother-in-law, and uncle that Jimmy was. I will miss him forever.

I remember how Jimmy and I would always be two of the first people in the office every morning and Jimmy would have his Taylor Ham, Egg and cheese sandwich with a cup of tea. I also remember Jimmy showing me his beer refrig in South Plainfield and I knew that I had to have one just like it! I will always remember how determined Jimmy was to give Taylor a wonderful life and how happy he was when all his hard work finslly brought her home. I will always remember Jimmy being the kindest and nicest person - he was serious when needed but when it was time to have fun - his face would glow with joy when he was having fun with his friends. I will always remember the Rutgers vs. Louisville tailgate party and game and the great seats Jimmy was able to put together for a great night. I will always have the warmest and fondest memories every time I think of Jimmy.
