Jeanne M. Brennan, of the Pleasant Valley area of Marlboro, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at her residence.
Jeanne was born in New Brunswick on November 5, 1932 to Elizabeth McDonald and Frank J. Meagher. An honors graduate of Douglass College, where she was chosen to be a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Jeanne also did graduate work at Rutgers, Kean, and Seton Hall Universities.
For many years, most of them in the Freehold Township School District, Jeanne served as a teacher, librarian, and as the first principal of the C. Richard Applegate School. After retiring, Jeanne was a part-time adjunct professor on the faculty of Monmouth University.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was predeceased by her greatly loved husband, Charles G. Brennan; her dear sister-in-law, Marion Walter. She is survived by her nieces, Susan Walter of Morristown, and Barbara and her husband, Drew Yuhas, of Pennington; her nephew Rick Walter of Basking Ridge; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Interment will take place Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936.
