Joan H. Yates, 86, of Colts Neck passed away at her home on Thursday morning, December 10th, 2015. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Colts Neck for many years. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Yates was a Teacher in the Brick Township Public School System for over 30 years. She was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club of Colts Neck, and was a long time volunteer at Longstreet Farm. She loved her family and was a worldwide traveler. Mrs. Yates was predeceased by her husband Frank just a year ago in 2014, and by her sister Gloria Richardson. Surviving are her sons Mark and his wife Susanne, David and his wife Michelle, Jeffrey Yates, and her daughter Lisa Deckmejian, grandchildren Kimberly Hess and her husband John, Tyler, Eric, Rochelle, Patrick, Allison, and Emily Yates, Nicholas Deckmejian, and two great grandchildren Andrew and Kinley. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, on Tuesday morning, December 15th from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at the Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M.
