Linda Irons Cottrell left a message on January 19, 2007:
Dear Mrs. G, Gail and Meg, I was so sorry and shocked to hear of John's death. I have been out of touch with all of you and don't even know if he had been sick or if his death was sudden. I remember that John was the one to tell me of Elvis' death (we were in Moore's Inn) and I refused to believe him! Please accept my prayers and my sympathy. Love, Linda

Dear Courtrena and Family: I am very sorry to hear about the passing of John. I will always remember him with Brad the Plumber. He was always smiling and joking around. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and in my prayers. With Sympathy, Shelagh McCarthy
Karen Murphy left a message on January 18, 2007:
I am deeply saddened by the loss of John. My memories of him date back to the 1970's when I had first met him. I was about 10 years old and John was in his early 20's. He always had a cheerful way about him, was kind, warm and genuine. His gentle way made those around him feel at ease. Although I had not seen John very often in the past 20 years, I will always have very fond memories of him. My heart goes out to Corky, Jason, Jonathan, Stephanie & Madison, his mom, Eunice, Gail, Meg and everyone else whose lives John has touched in the past 54 years. He will be deeply missed. With much love & deepest sympathy, Karen, Jim & Morgan Murphy
Stephanie left a message on January 18, 2007:
John was my father-in-law of a little over 2 years, but I felt as if he was my own father, and I loved him as so. He was the best pop-pop in the world and it breaks my heart that Madison's time with him was so short. She will always know how she was the light of his life. Dad will be in our hearts forever and I know he is looking down so proud of 'his boy' Jonathan. I love you Dad- you will be greatly missed. Stephanie Gillespie
