John J. Pallone, 83, of Long Branch, died Sunday at the Health South Rehabilitation Center, Tinton Falls. Mr. Pallone was a life long resident of Long Branch. He along with his brother were the co owners of F&J Motors, Long Branch. He also worked as a mutual clerk at Monmouth Park Racetrack. Mr. Pallone was an exempt member of the Atlantic Engine Company, of the Long Branch Fire Department. He was a life member of the Long Branch First Aid Squad. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity RC Church, of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch. He served for many years as a committeeman for the Long Branch Democratic Party. Mr. Pallone served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, Rose and Joseph Pallone; his brother Carmine Pallone. Surviving is his brother, Frank J. Pallone, Sr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Gerard Viracola, Shrewsbury; his nephews, Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. and his wife Sarah, John Pallone and his wife Svetlana , Jerry Viracola, Thomas Pallone, Joseph Pallone; a niece Mary and her husband Michael Dekker; 8 great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street at Broadway, Long Branch. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 9:00AM Wednesday at Holy Trinity RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
