John Kokinakos, 45 died Sunday (11/1) at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Brooklyn, NY he lived in Manalapan, NJ. He was a partner at the Forge in Woodbridge. Mr Kokinakos was a member of Kimisis Tis Theotokou G.O. Church in Holmdel. John was a talented artist with a great sense of humor and possessed a warm heart. He was a loving son, devoted father, and beloved brother. Surviving are 4 sons, Peter, William, Zane, and Jaden, his parents, Peter and Helen Kokinakos of Colts Neck, and a brother Christos Kokinakos of Boca raton, FL. I never met Mr. Kokinakos but I went to school with his son Peter from K-8th grade and he was in my classes numerous times. Peter was always such a bright and uplifting soul and everyone in our class loved him. On the CDMS Class of 2006 page on facebook we have Peter listed as our hero. Peter was a shining star and it was sad for all of us when he did not join most of us at CNHS. Peter has faced challenges in his life but has always worked past them but I know this hurdle will be difficult. Peter is a strong soul and I am sure that goes for the rest of his family as well. I still talk to his friend Colin but have not spoken to Peter in a while and it breaks my heart to see such a genuine and warm person go through this pain. Peter, all those kids you went to school with including myself will always remember you and we will keep you and your family in our prayers during this difficult time.
