John Richard Dearborn, Sr. entered eternal life at the age of 92 on February 21, 2025, in Eatontown, New Jersey.
Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, John graduated from Ferris High School and joined the Navy. Serving in the Korean war, John was stationed on an aircraft carrier specializing in avionics technology where he cultivated what would become one of John’s life-long passions, airplanes. After four years of dedicated service, John returned home to marry the love of his life, Dolores Krasowski on September 23rd, 1956. John and Dolores met at a church dance party and from that day on John knew Dolores was “the one”. Watching John and Dolores dance brought a smile to all as they commanded a dance floor mastering many genres from the polka to the jitterbug. They took residence in Bayonne, New Jersey to begin their married life and raise their four children.
John began his career at Teterboro Airport repairing avionics equipment on private aircraft. He later joined Collins Avionics where his career led him to sales management, retiring at the age of 70.
By far, the most important thing in John’s life was his family. John would find great joy at family events and was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. John would always be there for a family member in need. John’s technical abilities went far beyond aircraft technology, as he could fix anything. There was no project too big nor too small for him to tackle. Creating experiences, instilling values, and making a beautiful home for his family brought John great joy.
John is preceded in death by his father Edward (Buster) Dearborn, his mother Eugenia Dearborn nee Feldhan, and his siblings Irwin (Mickey), Patrick, Allen, Donald, and Cornelia.
John is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Dolores Dearborn nee Krasowski, his children John (Rick) Dearborn, Jr. and his wife Michele Dearborn nee Zientek, Robin Kenny and her husband Joseph, Lori Billyard and her husband Paul, and Edward Dearborn and his wife Jennifer Dearborn nee Bahrenburg.
