Joseph A. Burns, III, 91 of Interlaken, died at his home on Tuesday, December 9th. Mr. Burns moved to Interlaken in 2004 from West Allenhurst, where he lived for 50 years. He was born and raised in Long Branch. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Michael's RC Church, West End, Long Branch. He served his country honorably during World War II, enlisting in 1942 at the age of 19 in the U.S. Army Air Corp. Following his military service, Joseph became a Banker at Midlantic Bank, Newark, where he retired in 1985. Following retirement Joseph enjoyed his days working in his garage and perfecting his abilities as a handyman, and being able to spend so much free time with his family. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Ann Taylor Burns, his sister, Harriet B. Weber and his son-in-law, Robert J. Collins. Joseph leaves behind his loving family, Thomas and Irene Burns, Jean and Richard Primavera, Kathryn Collins and Jennifer and John Harper; his ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation, Friday, Dec. 12th, 4 to 8 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 13th, 10 am at St. Michael's RC Church, Long Branch.
