Joseph F. Lyons, 63, of Long Branch went home to be with the Lord August 21, 2009. After a Lengthy illness. Mr. Lyons was a proud member of the United States Marine Corp and actively served in Vietnam. Corporal Joseph Lyons was distinguished by the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge and the Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Lyons was a retired electrician from New Jersey transit a member of Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post 2140 Surviving a son, Christopher Lyons, Long Branch; two sisters, Audrey Platt, Blairsville, PA., Judy Hughes, West Chester, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 29, 10:00 AM at the Shrewsbury Assembly of God Church, Sycamore Avenue, Shrewsbury.
