Joseph P. Allocco, Sr., 89 a long-time resident of Holmdel died at his home on July 7th.
Mr. Allocco retired as the Road Supervisor for the Township of Holmdel. He was a parishioner of Holy Family RC Church, Union Beach all his life.
His greatest joy was his son Joseph, Jr. and he was Joseph’s biggest hero. He loved to follow Joseph’s band and everything Joe did. Joe loved to stop at 7-11 in Holmdel every morning for coffee and hanging out with his friends, he would leave there and go to the Exxon station in Holmdel to hangout see more friends and help with whatever needed to be done. He was a daily reader of the New York Post, loved to watch his tv shows, The Andy Griffith Show, Walker Texas Ranger, MacGyver and Highway to Heaven. He and his wife Josephine loved traveling to the Amish region of Pennsylvania and enjoyed Miller’s Smorgasbord Restaurant. Joe enjoyed camping at Ft. Wilderness Campground at Disney World, with his family.
Joe had a big heart; he was a loving and giving man. He loved everyone he ever met. Joe enjoyed Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, Elvis Presley and Bobby Vinton and he especially loved his son Joe’s band. Joe served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved Josephine who died in 2020, they had been married for 58 years; Joe’s parents, Jerry and Mollie Allocco; his siblings, Dominick Allocco, Charles Allocco, James Allocco and Connie Mioduszewski.
Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph P. and Andrea Allocco, Beachwood; his sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Louis Cevasco, Aberdeen.
Visitation Tuesday, July 13th, 10 am to 1 pm. Funeral service is 1:45 pm, at the chapel of St. Joseph’s Mausoleum, Keyport. In lieu of customary remembrances, Joe’s family requests with gratitude memorial contributions in his name be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www. stjude.org.
