Joseph Sacco, 97 who was born and lived in Long Branch, passed away on Wed. June 2nd surrounded by his family at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Long Branch. Mr. Sacco started his career as a foreman over the sign painters at Earle. In 1945 he established a neon sign business, Sacco Sign Company in Long Branch, and was well known throughout Monmouth County for his work. He was a communicant of Star of the Sea RC Church, Christ the King Parish, Long Branch. His family always came first. May is strength and love of life live on through his family. He will always have a special place in our hearts forever. Mr. Sacco was pre-deceased by his wife of 75 years, Jennie Saggese Sacco on Nov. 23, 2009; his parents, James and Mary Sacco; his sisters, Ella Bongarzone, Rachael Acerra, Clara Siciliano, Minnie Sacco and his brother Savino Sacco. Surviving are two daughters, Andrea Sacco Bornstein and Natalie Tuers; his grandchildren, Sean Tuers and his wife, Ruth, Jody Tuers, Kipp Tuers, Stacey McGlinchy and her husband, Dennis and Bryan Bornstein and his wife Marci; his great grandchildren, Rhiannon, Morgan and Alexis Tuers, Jack, Caroline, Maggie and Christine McGlinchy and Zoey and Mikayla Bornstein; his sister-in-law Natalie Pollio and her husband, Guido; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday June 4th, 4 to 6 pm at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday June 5th, 9:00 AM at Star of the Sea RC Church, Long Branch. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport.
