Josephine R. “Josie K” Klein, 87 of Hazlet, died on Tuesday, January 4th.

She was born in Hillside, New Jersey to the late Anna Baumgartner and George Seelinger, Sr. in 1934.

Josephine was raised in Newark along with her five siblings.

She enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and was always “the life of the party”. When she wasn’t playing the slots, she was playing cards and dice with her family. Most important to Josephine was spending time with her family.

She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Klein, Jr., her son, Gary Klein, her grandson, Daniel, and her siblings, Eleanor Stecky, Margaret Seelinger, Anna Mae Hague, George Seelinger, Jr. and Phillip Seelinger.

Surviving are her children, Alfred III and his wife, Patty Klein of Middletown, Wayne Klein of Oxford, Brenda and her husband, Raymond McCann of Hazlet, and John Klein of Hazlet, grandchildren Patrick, Alfred IV, Jennifer, Jenna, and John, and great-grandchildren Kirstiana, Leela, Carmine, and Luna.

Visitation Sunday, January 9th from 2pm – 5pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, January 10^th, 10 am at St. Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet.

In lieu of traditional remembrances, Josephine’s family requests that donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org.
