Jules Henry Aerts, 56, of Colts Neck, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 26, 2014 at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. Jules was born in Queens, N.Y. and resided in Hazlet, NJ before moving to Colts Neck for over the past twenty years. He graduated from Raritan High School and attended Fairleigh Dickens University. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He worked as a sound engineer for various artists in the entertainment industry including the Ramones; Blondie; Soul Asylum; Patti Smith; the Blues Brothers Band. He spent the last twenty years touring the world with Bob Dylan and his band. He loved cooking, music, and was an accomplished artist. But his favorite passion was spending time with his family, friends, and especially his adventures with his daughter, Jennylee. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Diane Aerts, his beloved sister, Gerardine Hern. He leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Carol Ann Schellenberger Aerts. His beloved children, Julianne of Hoboken; Joseph of Hillsborough; Jennylee of Colts Neck; his brother, Richard and his wife, Elizabeth and family of Monroe; his brother-in-law, Dennis Hern of Hazlet; his mother-in-law, Anna May Schellenberger of Colts Neck; many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 9:00am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck. Interment immediately following the service at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Route 520, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Carol Ann Aerts, for the Jennylee Aerts College Fund, c/o Cinecall Productions, PO Box 854, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Jules will be fondly remembered for his love, friendship, and especially for filling our lives with his laughter.

Dear Family of Jules. First of all My well ment condolences. I am very very sorry for your loss. He was such a loveble man. I have met Jules a couple of years ago when he was in Holland. It was great to meet him after we met and played as children. Being that my father is the eldest brother of Jules his father, we met as children when Joseph and Diane came to visit his Mother father, brothers and sisters. Also he visisted us when my parents had there 25 aniversary. So for me it was a big and very nice surprise to meet him as an adult and catch up a bit. (by the way, if there are no pictures of that event in his childhood I can scan them in fo you and send them) We hoped to meet him again soon. The fact that we got the message that he died came as a shoque. We did not know anything about his illnes. At this moment I am in Gemany.
