Karen W. Shatto, 71 of West Long Branch, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010 at St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Shatto was born and raised in Oakhurst and lived in West Long Branch since 1969. She was the office manager for 25 years for Long Branch Monument Company, West Long Branch. Karen was a volunteer for the March of Dimes and the Ronald McDonald House. She was an active member of the West Long Branch Community, served on the PTA, and was a leader for the Boy and Girl Scouts. She formed and coached for many years the first female softball team for the West Long Branch Sports Association. She was a lifelong member of Takanassee Beach Club. Karen will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Leigh Anne Shatto in 1963. She is survived by her husband, Ronald J. Shatto; four sons, Jon and his wife Tina Shatto, Peachtree City, Ga., Scott Shatto, Long Branch, Michael and his wife Kalina Shatto, Oceanside, Ca. and Ronnie Shatto, Santa Monica, Ca.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and James Holowach, Lakewood and Robin and Eric Labiak, Yardley, Pa.; her mother, Carolyn Woolley, Howell Twp.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Mary Woolley, Haddonfield, NJ and Peter and Beth Woolley, Deal, and her 13 grandchildren, Robert, Thomas, Christopher, Alexis, Benjamin, David, Matthew, C.J., Lindsey, Tyler, Luke, Connor and Katrina. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 8th, 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St., Long Branch, NJ. Funeral services will be Tues. Nov. 9th, 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
