Laura Schneider, of Oceanport, died peacefully in her sleep November 25, 2008. She was a graduate of Long Branch High School and Glassboro College. Before raising her family, Laura was the school secretary at West End School, she was a life-long member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, an active member of the church choir for 46 years, a member of the 'JAWS' women's circle, co-president of the women's UMW executive committee, and the in-charge person for the 'Soup and Sandwich' Lenten lunches. Laura was also responsible for overseeing and preparing the St. Luke's Harvest Home Supper held each October. She was accustomed to serving 300 meals at this event. Laura was a totally devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving is her mother, M. C. Garrabrant, of Eatontown, her husband, H. Alan Schneider; three sons and their wives, Harold F. and Suzanne J. Schneider, of Winchester, Virginia; Raymond A. and Heather A. Schneider, of South Kingstown Rhode Island; and Donald E. and Langlie J. Schneider, of Oceanport, and seven grand children; Katherine, Todd Alan, Matthew, Carrie, Blair, Miller, and Nicole. A remembrance celebration of Laura's life will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 535 Broadway, Long Branch, Saturday, November 29 at 10:30 am.
