Lauren Sferlazzo, 79, of Monmouth Beach, passed away on Thursday, November 20th, at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.
Born in Newark and raised in Livingston, Lauren made her home in Monmouth Beach, where she spent many happy years surrounded by family and friends. She graduated from Livingston High School and went on to earn her degree from Caldwell College for Women. Lauren worked as a dental hygienist and took great pride in her career, finding fulfillment in her work and enjoyment in the lifelong friendships she built along the way.
Lauren found joy in playing Mah Jong with friends, exploring the trails at Hartshorne Woods, and going to the theater for a good movie. She was a wonderful cook, and her chicken marsala and noodle kugel will forever remind her family of home and the love she put into every meal. Lauren had a unique and vibrant spirit. She loved to ski, laugh, and stay active-always on the move, always ready to show up for the people she cared about. Her warmth, energy, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed.
Lauren is predeceased by her parents, Vivian & Robert Baime and her sister Daryll Walsh.
She is survived by her two sons, Samuel Sferlazzo and Adam Sferlazzo, and her daughter-in-law, Brittany Sferlazzo; her two sisters, Leslie Jacobson and Maxine Gilson; and her three cherished grandchildren, Emma, Nicholas, and Annie, who brought endless joy and pride to her life.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23rd, at 11:30 a.m. at Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, with interment to follow at Temple Beth El Cemetery in Neptune. Shiva will be observed on Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Lauren leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be remembered in every shared story, every recipe passed down, and every moment of kindness inspired by the way she lived.
