Linda Brockriede, 86, of Long Branch, passed away on Sunday, September 21st.
Mrs. Brockriede was born and raised in Monmouth County. She graduated from Manasquan High School in 1957 and became a Registered Nurse, studying at Ann May School of Nursing in Neptune, NJ.
She was a Registered Nurse for a few years at Fitken Hospital (now Jersey Shore) until she met her husband, Mr. John Brockriede. They worked together to create the Monmouth Enterprises Real Estate Management, their family business.
Linda was a devoted Catholic. She was a parishioner and Trustee of St. Michael’s Church in West End for many years; and a Grande Dame of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher.
She was known for her generosity and philanthropy to many organizations, including Monmouth University and Monmouth Medical Center, and as an avid music lover for her contributions to the Jazz Corner Music Foundation, Monmouth County SPCA. Hospital of Special Surgery, New York, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Hun School of Princeton.
She was an avid Golfer and a long-time member of Deal Golf and Country Club. Linda enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Hilton Head Island since 1976.
Linda is predeceased by her husband, John, of nearly 50 years; her parents, George and Vivian Rogers; and her sister, Ellen Barnett.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, John, Jr. and Kenna Brockriede, Long Branch, Mark and Nichole Brockriede, West Long Branch; her daughter, Carol Brockriede, Oceanport; her step-sister Patricia Iadanza & her husband Richard and her grandchildren, Hunter and his wife Dana, Raven and her husband Dylan Hedmark, John, III, Austin, Greyson, Gianna, Nicholas, Isabella, Jordanna and Cole; and her great-grandchildren Hawthorne, Elodie and Raela.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1st, 4-8 pm at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 2nd at 10:30 am at St. Michael’s RC Church, Long Branch. Entombment will follow at Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.
In lieu of customary remembrances, donations may be made in Linda’s memory to one of her favorite listed charities.
