Louis Glantzman, 90 of Long Branch passed away at Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. Glantzman was born and raised in New York City. He lived in Long Island and Freehold, NJ before moving to West Long Branch for many years before moving to Long Branch. He was a member of the Congregation Brothers of Israel, Elberon. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. His service took him to the Invasion of Normandy, where he and his fellow soldiers, worked there way across France and then into Germany. He was then reassigned to be stationed in Japan, while he was being transported through the Panama Canal, they learned the war had ended and they were returned to the United States, where he was awarded several medals for his valor and service. Following his discharge from the Army, he became a mailman until he went to work for MetLife Insurance Co., New York City. Upon retiring from MetLife at 50 years of age he changed careers and became a financial advisor. He will be remembered as an extraordinary man, who enjoyed every moment of his life and family. Mr. Glantzman was an outdoorsman, enjoying, fishing, traveling, swimming, animals, and outdoor life. Known for a dry sense of humor, he had a kind and giving heart, he would never say a negative word to anyone. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Rhoda Sokol in 2005. Surviving is his wife, of 70 years, Jeannette Glantzman; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Edward Dlugosz, Eatontown; his son-in-law, Robert Sokol, Elberon; his grandchildren, David and his wife Renee Dlugosz, Lisa Dlugosz, Andrew and his wife Julie Sokol and Wendy Sokol-rogers and her husband Brian, Jodie and her husband Brian Wilson; his great great grandchildren, Connor and Reese Rogers, Ethan and Ellie Wilson; his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Nora Glantzman, Toms River. Funeral services Friday, March 8th, 10 am at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Brothers of Israel Cemetery, West Long Branch.
