Lucille M. Luccarelli Christianson, a lifelong resident of Holmdel, died at her home on Thursday, August 12th.
After graduating Holmdel High School in 1979, Lucille continued her education at Clarion University in Pennsylvania where she earned her degree in Elementary and Special Education. Upon returning to Holmdel, propelled by the love and pride for her family, Lucille chose to work for Dearborn Farms founded by her grandfather and expanded on by her parents Dolores and Dominick Luccarelli. Lucille, her parents and her two brothers Frank and D.J. developed the store into a premier specialty farm market. As part owner and the treasurer of the company, Lucille´s attention to detail was respected and her sincere personality was beloved by everyone who met her. After retiring from Dearborn Market, she chose a different career path by becoming the Office Manager of Garmany of Red Bank. She easily transitioned to her new position and relished the relationships that she formed with her boss and coworkers.
In her free time Lucille loved reading romance novels and cooking for her family. Her specialty dishes were her homemade meatballs and sauce as well as her famous tacos. Lucille loved to entertain for her family and friends and would prepare corned beef for St. Patrick’s Day and prepare a traditional family meal for Christmas day dinner at her house. Her celebrations always extended to her close family and friends who she considered to be family. While Dominique and Sidney were in Holmdel Schools, Lucille was an active volunteer in the school library, PTA as well as helping with CCD at the Church of St. Catharine where she has been a lifelong parishioner. Lucille was her children’s #1 supporter in sports, school and any achievement she could celebrate.
It all started for Lucille and Sid at the top of White Face Mountain in Lake Placid, New York where Sid proposed on the top of the mountain in the middle of a thunderstorm. They enjoyed their time spent together, sharing stories and creating forever memories. They enjoyed spending time together enjoying their favorite restaurants, going to Atlantic City, going to watch Broadway shows in the city, and spending their time at the Sea Bright beach. Once the kids were born, Lucille and Sid would take the kids and go down to Boca Raton Florida to visit her mother. The whole family traveled here often, creating memories and laughs, and of course playing cards.
Lucille had a great sense of humor which she loved to share with others. She enjoyed watching the Bravo channel´s Housewives of New Jersey and Beverly Hills as well as Love Island. She found the drama amusing and would text her children throughout the show with her comical commentary. Lucille, a true romantic and empath, loved watching Nicholas Sparks movies and any movie with an emotional story. She was a big fan of the New Jersey Devils and New York Giants and always supported the teams by wearing her jersey to the games that she attended with her family and friends. Her friendships were an important facet in her life. She maintained strong connections with friends throughout every phase of her life. Lucille was part of a group of friends who would gather regularly to play Pokeno where she would show her playful yet competitive side. She was blessed with a special friend group formed in high school known affectionately as ¨the Holmdel Girls¨. With this group, Lucille took unforgettable girls’ trips to Florida and cherished their sisterhood.
Lucille was pre-deceased by her parents Dolores and Dominick Luccarelli.
Surviving is her best friend and love of her life of 26 years, her husband, Sidney A. Christianson Jr, her most cherished children Dominique S. Christianson of Raleigh, NC and Sidney O. Christianson of Holmdel. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Susan Luccarelli of Copake, NY and Domenico (D.J.) and Nila Luccarelli of Holmdel and eighteen nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday, August 25th at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Catharine, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel. An Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucille’s memory to the Frances Foundation, 8 Bryce Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733; www.francesfoundation.net.

I remember visiting and spending time with Lucille in the early days when Dearborn was much smaller. If I am remembering correctly it included a small kitchen where we would spend our time.
Going to Dearborn was a regular event and seeing Lucille there was a common occurrence and always with a smile on her face.
She was a kind person. She will be missed.

Way too soon. Those so kind and loving to humanity in need during life, like my cousin Lucille, we may expect, would be granted more time on Earth, by the grace of God, to do all the good Lucille has done in her lifetime.
In Christianity however, I know is not my place to question God's grace, rather to understand and help to carryout God's good work on Earth, as my cousin Lucille had, with the very worthy Francis Foundation and so many other charities and deeds she undertook with rigor and commitment throughout her life.
Life isn't perfect, life is unfair, yet there are those who live their life in service to others, including, honoring, and serving, parents, family, community and God before themselves; as my cousin Lucille did, as anyone who knew her may attest.
We are from a family that knows this faithful life well and Lucille, without a shadow of a doubt, has lived that life in kindness and service to others in need very well, in my humble opinion.

I remember Toni and I visiting Lucille’s beautiful home in Holmdel and being so, so welcomed by her family. And she took us to all of the cool places, too, including Bruce Springsteen’s house (or former house?), where I believe I kissed the driveway. Lucille was special and a fun, lovely person inside and out. I’m so glad we got to see her when she was in Pittsburgh for a wedding a few years back. If only we could play backgammon again. I can't believe Lucille is gone. I still think of her as the teenager, playing pool with me in the basement of her parent's home. DJ was pestering her relentlessly until she'd had enough and chased him out of the house. I was so saddened to hear of this news - Lucille was my first "boss" at Dearborn Farms while I was a Cashier. She taught me a strong work ethic and I can often recall fondly of kindness to the elderly customers who would come in. In a chatty moment, Lucille shared that she had just gone on her first date with her now husband, Sydney and told us all about it.... I recall a boat :). Regardless, my heart is broken for her husband, children, and her extended family.
