Lucille Tabasso, 89 of Holmdel passed away at Bayshore Medical Center on Saturday, July 20th.
Affectionately known by her family as Aunt Lu or LuLu was born in Passaic and lived in Nutley until moving to Edison in 1968. In 2020 she moved to Holmdel to be closer to her daughter. She was the proud owner and operator of MarLu Beauty Salon with her sister Marge. After raising her girls, she worked for Conair Cuisinart Corporation as a customer service representative until her retirement in 2001.
Lucille loved to cook Italian food especially her family’s favorites, sausage and peppers, stuffed artichokes and chicken murphy to name a few. She loved meeting her brothers and sister for hot dogs at Rutt’s Hut or going to Friendly’s for ice cream. Lucille enjoyed hosting Thanksgiving dinner for many years. She would spend her Christmas celebrations at her daughters’ homes and always made sure she brought her homemade Italian knot cookies.
Becoming a grandmother was a highlight of her life. She loved, adored and was so proud of her four grandchildren. She will always be remembered as kind, caring, and generous but mostly a loving mother and grandmother.
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Salvatore Tabasso in 2008; her sister Marge Sages and her brother, Daniel D’Aloia.
Surviving are her daughters and Sons-in-law, Karen and Robert Kuhn, Flemington, and Anne and David Rauso, Lincroft; her brother Carmine D’Aloia; four grandchildren, Michael, Lauren, Alyssa and Ashley. Lucille is also survived by a large close family of beloved sisters in law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation Friday, July 26th, from 3 until 7 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, July 27th, 10:30 am, St. Benedict’s RC Church, Holmdel. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
