There was only one person in the world cooler than Walt, with his cigar and can of Bud. That was Mae, with her cigarette and glass of White Zinfandel. We Romanos will miss you, Mae. Thank you for over a quarter-century of friendship and unconditional love.

My sincere thoughts, prayers, and love to all of you. I so enjoyed connecting with your mom these past few years via facebook. I have great memories of her, when you all visited your grandmother, many decades ago. May her memory be eternal.

Riding with Mae was pure trail riding all over Colts Neck. Mae knew all the trails and made more. Thank you Mae for being an important part of the best part of my life.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Justin Romano left a message on January 17, 2021:
My condolences to Mae’s family, she was an amazing mother and grandmother. I was so lucky to move to Colts Neck and find that I had neighbors like Mae and Walt. I can’t imagine my life without their tutelage, Mae always making sure to call me on my bull and always striking at what I needed to here. I’ll always remember Mae up on her saddle riding off down Old Farm Road to trails unknown. She was rough, she was true and she lived her life exactly how she wanted. I’m so happy my children got to meet her, how they loved going across the street to Mae’s house, always a variety of animals, frogs and fish to feed. They especially loved her flowered paths. She will be missed always. I love you Mae.
Jim & Betty Pifer left a message on January 17, 2021:

Sis, You have been in my life ever since I was born. Of course, you teased me during our childhood years, but you were also an inspiration to me. You were a trailblazer when you decided to work your way through college, enabling me to know I could do that also. As we raised our families in different states, you were only a phone call away. I will miss being able to chat with you on the phone, My heart is aching, but I know you are now at peace and free of pain. Until we meet again....your loving sister, Shirley
Kay Miller left a message on January 16, 2021:
You reached out to me when Glenn died and kept me up to date on all our relatives. If it had not been for you, I would have missed a lot. I am missing our chats, already. Kay

So many happy childhood memories of days - even weeks - spent with Aunt Mae and Uncle Walt at their lovely home. Always made me feel so welcome, taught me to saddle and ride Junebug, and, in more recent years, showed the same hospitality to my own children. My condolences to Natalie, Mark, Joel, Michael, and the grandchildren.
Jessica Frederick Sieto left a message on January 16, 2021:
My deepest condolences to my cousins Michael, Mark, Joel and Natalie. Aunt Mae was kind, generous, spunky, and fun. I have many happy memories of visits to Colt’s Neck where she patiently taught me to ride her beloved horses. She was one of a kind and a shining example of a life well lived. She will be missed.
