Maria A. Bruno, an intelligent, lively woman of deep faith passed away, April 28, 2026 in her home in Brick Township at the age of 93 after a short period of declining health.
Born on October 3, 1932 in Newark and raised in Long Branch, Maria graduated Red Bank Catholic in 1950. She graduated Kean College and then achieved her Masters at Fairleigh Dickinson.
Maria had a fulfilling career as a program analyst in the Department of Defense which took her all over the world. After retiring she enjoyed teaching piano and line dancing.
Maria was predeceased by her father Anthony F. Bruno, mother Florence Capozzi Bruno, brother Augustus and her beloved son William.
She is survived by brother Edward (Gloria) Bruno, her nephew Tony, two nieces Melinda (Chris) and Dana, 3 grandnieces, 1 grandnephew, her step-son Bill (Arlene) Baum, their 2 daughters and her cherished shepherd Nala.
Maria loved to have fun and lived life to the fullest. Her memory will be treasured by her family and friends.
Visitation Friday, May 1st, 2:00 – 6:00 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, Mass of Christian burial Saturday, May 2nd 10:00 am at Star of the Sea RC Church. Burial to follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
