Mariateresa “Maria” Libretti, 57, of Middletown, passed away peacefully with her husband Michael by her side on Thursday, February 29th, 2024 at Riverview Medical Center.
Loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Maria, a native of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, was a proud alumna of Fontbonne Hall Academy and later pursued her passion at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her professional journey began at Leslie Fay until she advanced her career to become a Production Manager at Maggie London.
It was at a family gathering that she first encountered the love of her life, Michael, and in 1988, they embarked on a beautiful journey together. Two years of devoted commitment followed as they saved for their first home in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. On December 7th, 1991, surrounded by love, they exchanged vows and started their family with the birth of their first born, John in 1996.
She embraced the joys of motherhood and moved to Middletown, NJ in 2001, welcoming their little girl, Victoria, into the world soon after. Her kind heart extended beyond her home. Her unwavering support and boundless love made her the ultimate cheerleader for her children, celebrating every moment. As her kids grew older, she became an assistant teacher at St. Catherine’s pre-school. Maria found joy in teaching young children and formed lasting friendships with the people she met there.
A beautiful person, Maria exemplified selflessness, consistently placing the needs of others above her own. Her warm and welcoming home was always a place for her family and friends, always filled with laughter from memorable gatherings, pool parties, and barbeques in the backyard. Whether it be pool volleyball or a board game, Maria always showed her competitive nature. Together Maria and Michael found joy in tackling home improvement projects to savoring moments at restaurants with cherished friends.
Maria was predeceased by her father, Antonio Raviele. She is survived by her husband Michael Libretti of 32 years, her children John and Victoria, beloved dog Rocky and her mother Lucia Raviele. Her sister Lia Koopman, husband John, their daughters Sydney, Olivia and Alexa and their dog Jax. Her brother Michael Raviele, wife Nicky, their daughter Isabella and their dog Teddy.
