Marie Benessere, 99, of Delray Beach, FL, passed away at her home in Colt Neck on Friday.

Marie was born and raised in Palermo, Italy, she immigrated to Brooklyn at the age of 19 and met the love of her life, Joseph, and the two would marry in 1949 and raise their family in Brooklyn. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Colts Neck and St. Thomas in Boynton Beach, FL

Marie was an excellent cook, gardener, and homemaker. Her warmth and nurturing personality made her an incredible mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marie is predeceased by her Husband Joseph Benessere and her daughter and son-in-law Rosemarie and Frank Gambino.

Marie is survived by her children Rosario Benessere and his wife Diane, and Nancy Alario and her husband Dr. Frank Alario; her grandchildren  Catherine and her husband Maurico, MarieElena and her husband Josh, Dr. Paul and his wife Chelsea, Dr. Joseph, Rosalie and her husband Eoghan, Andrea and her husband David, Matthew and his wife Lenore, and James; and her beloved great grandchildren Nicholas, Michael, Francesca, John, Frank Carlo, Andrew, Luke, Lino, Conor, Liam, Sophie, Emilia, Chrisitan and Rosie.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 10^th from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Rd, Holmdel, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 11^th at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum.
