Marie Frances Grieco, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on January 30th.
Marie was predeceased by her father Eugene Walch, her mother Lillian Pingitore, her sister Ellen Obach; and her brother Eugene Walch.
Frank Grieco, Marie’s husband of 70 years, passed away 6 days earlier on January 24th. They are now reunited in heaven with all their family and friends.
Marie was a lifelong resident of Long Branch where she would attend Long Branch High School. She was a cheerleader, the life of the party and everyone’s best friend. Marie met Frank her husband in high school and they would soon marry in 1951.
Marie raised her 7 children with grace and love in her heart. She was a loving mother who would do anything for her children. She loved to cook and entertain anyone and everyone who walked into her home. Marie’s famous icebox cake and Strawberry shortcake could not be matched. To know her was to love her as she would send you home with a belly full of food, and soul uplifted.
She was a beloved waitress at Dorios in Florida, the Sheraton and The Channel Club in Monmouth Beach. Whether she was cooking Sunday dinners for her family or serving her customers, she had smile on her face and twinkle in her eye.
Marie, “Mush” could be found watching her soap operas, shopping, having a blackberry brandy with her lifelong friends, eating juju fruits, sun tanning or spoiling her grandchildren. Marie loved her husband, Frank. She was a loyal and dedicated wife until the very end. Their love story resonates with everyone who knew them.
Marie is survived by her 7 children and spouses: Frank J. Grieco, III and Carol Fornicola, Claire and Michael Dello Russo, Gail Acerra, Maryellen Grieco, Raymond and Alice Grieco, Christopher and Izzy Grieco, and John and Theresa Grieco.

Visitation Sunday February 7th 1-4 PM at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Mass of Christian burial Monday February 8th 10:00 am at Holy Trinity RC Church, 408 Prospect Street, Long Branch. Burial to follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
