Marie J. Buck, 89 of Long Branch died on Tuesday August 23rd, at Monmouth Medical Center.
She was born in Brooklyn and moved to Long Branch in 1955.
Marie enjoyed entertaining at her home whether it be large holiday meals for Thanksgiving and Christmas or a family barbecue in her back yard during the summer. Her cheesecake, as well as her Kahlua and Amaretto cakes where always a big hit that followed her homemade antipasto, stuffed peppers and sausage or pepperoni bread. One of her greatest pleasures was feeding people.
She enjoyed painting and would always paint a scene on her glass door for each holiday season. Marie was a loyal fan of General Hospital as well as being a fan of old movies especially if John Wayne was in them. Marie enjoyed the music of the 60’s, her favorite song was the Yellow Polka Dotted Bikini. She leaves the memories of generous, caring woman who was a strong person from Brooklyn.
She was a 3 times cancer survivor who remained vibrant and active, cleaning and cooking right up to the end of her time with us.
Marie was pre-deceased by her husband Howard Buck.
Surviving Marie are her children, Anthony and Cathy LoBraico, Oakhurst, Marie Elana Santaita, Ocean, Michael and Kelly LoBraico, Teresa and Damon Falzoi, Lakeland, Fl.; 7 grand and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation Monday, Aug. 29th, 2 pm until the funeral service begins at 4:30 pm at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch, NJ. In lieu of customary remembrances contributions in Marie’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.
