Mark Thomas McGuigan, age 51, of Fair Haven, NJ, passed on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Mark was born August 16, 1964, in Red Bank, NJ, and was raised in Matawan, NJ. A graduate of St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel, NJ, Mark was an outstanding wrestler, holding the school record for the most individual wins for a number of years and was named to the school's athletic hall of fame for his accomplishments on the mat. Mark was also a member of the varsity baseball team. Mark went on to receive his business degree from the University of South Carolina and master’s degree from Northeastern University. Mark worked for a number of Global banks in New York City as a Credit Analyst. Given his love of sports and competition, Mark was an avid runner, with impressive finishing times in several full marathons in multiple states. Mark loved the beach and particularly Hawaii, where he spent many vacations with his beloved family. Mark is survived by his wife Sharon and two daughters, Meghan and Jenna, along with his mother, Doris and brothers, Peter (Laura), Michael, and Chris (Christina), and sister, Maura (Tim) Andersen. Mark is also survived by his mother-in-law, Carol Brady, and sister-in-laws, Colleen (Robert) Beuthe and Kelly (Joseph) Inguaggiato as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved greatly. In addition, he is remembered by many in the Jersey Shore running community. Family and friends will gather from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, May 23 at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. A Roman Catholic mass will be held at The Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven, NJ at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24. I used to love to go visit the entire McGuigan Family with my mom and sister .Back in the late 70's and early 80's Me and Mark would always end up wrestling in the living room. It seemed to be the only time we were aloud to wreck the furniture and not get yelled at by Dad . Both our family's would cheer us on ,not caring who wo won or lost. We each scored alot of points , broke things and entertained all those who were present. We always finished sweating and exhaused , with smiles on our faces.
