Mandy and Derek Vellacott left a message on November 10, 2007:
Nancy, Michael and Kacie Finally, and so belatedly I googled Martin's name and after a little search found to my horror that he had passed away. Although keeping contact has never been our strong point - we talk about and remember you all often. Of course you are a big part of our life and marriage. I am shaking as I write as the shock is tremendous. A lovely man and a fantastic friend our loss is minor compared to yours but having always imagined you all still operating as a family its incomprehendable trying to imagine otherwise. I only hope, Nancy that you are still reading these condolences and that perhaps you will get in touch. Our love goes to you all - lovely memories. With love Mandy and Derek

Nancy and family, I had not talked to Martin in some years but thought of him so often. It is Martin who inspired me to be a better person, who held me to a higher standard and who gave me encouragement through my years working for him. Martin was one of the influential people who made me who I am today. I know that he is always looking down on all of us and hope that you know he will always be with you.

Dearest Nancy, I came to know of Martin being very ill only a couple of months ago and prayed to the Almighty to give him strength to go thru his illness. It was great working with Martin as his personal secretary at Hess, here in Abu Dhabi for atleast 4 years. Thursdays being half day was a memorial day as towards closing hours we families had our spouses with the kids around and I always loved speaking to Nancy and tempting little Michael and Kacie with coloured pencils and stuff.

I am so glad we had a chance to vist with you guys during the trip here to St Croix. If there is anything we can do just let us now. You are in our thoughts and prayers. GOD BLESS.

We are so sorry to read about the passing of Martin. The Maranos were always good friends to us and Martin was especially close to my brother Ed. I have some fond memories of us all hanging out at Orienta Beach Club when we were kids. I e-mailed Martins obit to my brother Edward and I know that he is going to be greatly saddened by the news.
