Mary Luccarelli Hern, 83 of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 29. A proud 1959 graduate of Keyport High School, Mary cherished the lifelong friendships she forged there before marrying Don Hern in 1970. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself both to her professional career and to raising her children. A legendary cook with a sharp sense of humor, she delighted in teaching her children and grandchildren her favorite recipes and life lessons. Mary is fondly remembered by her children, grandchildren, cousins, many nieces and nephews, as well as her surviving siblings and the memory of those who passed before her.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026 between the hours of 2 and 6pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733.
In lieu of traditional remembrances, Mary’s family asks with gratitude that donations in her memory be made to The Frances Foundation for Kids Fighting Cancer at francesfoundation.net
