Mary Manos, 86, of Lakewood, died on Wednesday, March 23.
She was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1935 to the late Barbara and Alexander Simko.
As a young child, Mary endured the invasion of the Nazis during World War II. At the age of 13, she moved to the United States in search of a better life, she attended school and learned English. Shortly after that, she began to work as a hairdresser. Mary then raised a family, for whom she would do anything. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved by all those who met her.
Mary is predeceased by her parents.
Surviving are her two children Corinna and her husband, Michael Ianelli of Colts Neck, and Jason and his wife, Christine Manos of Tinton Falls, six grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Joseph, Daniel, Jason and Christopher, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation Sunday, March 27 from 2pm – 6pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, March 28, 10:30 am at the Parish of St. Mary’s, Colts Neck. Entombment to follow at St. Gabriel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Marlboro.
