Matilde Bruschi, 93 of Middletown died on Sunday, November 7.
She was born in Numana, Italy to the late Clara and Vincenzo Galantini.
Matilde met the love of her life, Carmillo in her home town and they started a family together. They moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1963, and lived in Bayridge before moving to Middletown in 2008.
She enjoyed sewing and was an avid seamstress, most of all, she enjoyed cooking for her family. She had various traditional home made recipes including broccoli rabe, swiss chard, minestrone, and pasta and sauce was always on the menu.
Matilde was a devout catholic who attended St. Anselm RC Church in Brooklyn every week when she lived in NY, and prayed daily when she couldn’t attend church.
She is predeceased by her husband Carmillo Bruschi, and her parents.
Surviving are her daughters Anna and her husband Martin Barbieri of Middletown, and Orietta and her husband Joseph Accardo of Monticello, NY, her twin brother Franco Galantini, four grandchildren Lisa, Diana, Amanda, and Christopher, and six loving great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on 10:15 am on Wednesday, November 10 at St. Leo the Great, 50 Hurleys Lane, Lincroft. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island.
