Matilde Hernandez , 68, was granted her heavenly angel wings on May 7th 2010. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family. ‘Mattie’ as she was known to those close to her, was a devoted Catholic. Her moments of prayer were her greatest treasure. Her delicate hands clasped her beloved rosary as though the most precious pearls. Mattie’s life was full of courage and hope. She taught us that in the face of adversity and fear, inner strength and faith are our loyal friends. She saw the humor in life and was blessed with a wonderful and contagious laugh. Matilde is survived by her loving daughters, Lisbeth Hohenstein and Claudia Hernandez-Koury; sons in law Charles Hohenstein and Richard Koury; and grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew Hohenstein whom she loved very much.
