Miriam V. Smith, 96, passed away on Friday, August 24th, 2018 at her home in Red Bank, N.J. Born in Staten Island, N.Y. Miriam was a graduate of St. Peters High School.

She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, baking and cooking. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Miriam was predeceased by her parents, James and Mae Sullivan, and by her husband Carl Smith. She is survived by her son Jay C. Smith and his wife Ellie, her daughter Ellen Smith Edel, her grandchildren Patrick, Chris, Melissa, Will and Kathleen, and her 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel on Tuesday morning from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. A Funeral Mass will then be offered at 11:00 A.M. at St. Benedict R.C. Church 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment will then follow at the Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of traditional remembrances, donations in her memory to the Kidney Cancer Association of America, or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
