Morris Newberg, 90 of Long Branch, passed away Saturday January 28th at the Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. Mr. Newberg was a veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theatre with the 119th Infantry. He received the Bronze Star as well as a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged as a Master Sergeant in 1945 After serving in the war Morris was employed at Coast Hardware, Roy Iskow Insurance Agency and Congregation Brothers of Israel. He served as the President of the Men's Club at the Synagogue. Morris was a fan of all sports but especially the New York Yankees. Morris is survived by his wife of 61 years Bernice Brodsky; son, Jay and his wife Cindy; daughter Amy Scerbo and her husband Bill; his grandson, Kevin Newberg; and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Sylvia Newberg Graveside services will be Monday January 30th, 10 AM at Congregation Brothers of Israel Cemetery, North Linden Ave., West Long Branch. The Woolley Funeral Home, Long Branch is in charge of arrangements.
