Morton S. Lehrer, 86 of Ocean Township, died Sunday May 31st at home. Mr. Lehrer known to his family and friends as 'Morty', was born and raised in Asbury Park. He was a graduate of Asbury Park High School. Morty served honorably in the U.S. Army in World War II. Morty moved to Long Branch with his wife Sandy,where they raised their family before moving to Ocean Township five years ago. He was a member of Congregation Torat El, Ocean Township. Morty was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and a member of the Long Branch Old Guard. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving is his devoted wife Sandy Lehrer; Sandy and Morty's three children, Perry Lehrer, Flemington, Randi and James Kervick, Ocean Township and Amy and Michael Addeo, Ocean Township, their daughter-in-law Cindy Lehrer, Ringoes; six loving grandchildren, Steven, Maggie, John, William, Joshua and Shayna; and his sister-in-law, Carol Sutphin, Rustburg, Va. Funeral services, 1 pm, Monday, June 1st at the Woolley-Boglioli Funeral Home, 10 Morrell Street, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Chesed Shel Ames Cemetery, West Bangs Avenue, Neptune.
