Nicholas Cappelleri, 55 of Colts Neck, died on Sunday December 27, 2020.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from Bishop Ford High School, where he went on to earn a degree from Pace University. Following college Nicholas began a long and successful career on Wall Street. He was dedicated to his work and sought out to do everything possible to ensure that a job was well done. He currently served as the Managing Director of Finance for Cantor-Fitzgerald. In recent years he approached his work as CFO of Cantor Gaming with enthusiasm and made frequent trips to their Las Vegas location. His work from home routine featured the background buzz of CNBC, the tranquility of the swimming fish in his tank, and coffee breaks with his family.

His greatest pleasure was his family and friends. Nicholas loved to travel and gather around the table to enjoy meals with his family. Known affectionately as Nicky to many, he was always a man with a detailed plan. Taking care of others was his number one priority and never failed to be the problem-solver in times of need. “I’ll take care of it” was the response given to any query and he always did so with a smile.

Family trips domestic and abroad were incomplete if they did not feature time to “walk aimlessly” – regardless of temperature! He loved exploring new places and finding different restaurants to share with others. Nicholas loved taking the scenic route whether that was driving down to Cape May or up winding roads in Tuscany. He enjoyed playing Black Jack and Roulette at the Casino and long walks with his wife, Anna Maria. As a family, trips to the city entailed museums and musicals. Always on the move, he woke up each day looking for something to do with those he loved. But some of the best times were had in the backyard barbequing, swimming, and sitting by the fire with others.

He loved weekend mornings filled with waffles piled high with Nutella and whipped cream and could be found at the coffee maker frothing milk for lattes he would proudly present to the table – sprinkles of cinnamon and all. He was a lover of all things sweet, especially chocolate and was a fan of late-night snacks. His recent passion was his fish tank, which was a joint effort with his son, Robert with much misinformed input from his daughter, Alissa. Working on the tank was an event complete with music and family consultation. The debate of which fish to add was never ending and the many hours were spent admiring the aquatic community that was built together.

Surviving is his wife of 28 years, Anna Maria Cappelleri; their two children, Alissa Cappelleri, Matawan and Robert Nicholas Cappelleri; his mother, Maria Theresa Cappelleri, Brooklyn; his brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Lynn Cappelleri, Colts Neck and his sister and brother-in-law, Josephine and Jerry Grillo, Brooklyn, NY. He leaves behind his beloved nieces and nephews: Alessandra & Nick, Elizabeth, Michael, Melia, Salvatore, Elizabeth, Ethan, Christina, and Jason.

Visitation Sunday, January 3^rd, 1 pm until 6 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ. Mass of Christian burial Monday, January 4^th, 10 am, at St. Mary’s Church, 1 Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, NJ.  Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel’s Mausoleum, 549 Route 520, Marlboro, NJ.
