Nuala M. Teevan, 84, of Holmdel died Sunday, Dec. 4th at CareOne, Holmdel.
She was born in 1938 and raised in County Galway, Ireland. She graduated from Portiuncula School of Nursing in Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1961 as part of the Irish Nurses Association to work at St. Michael’s Hospital, Newark, where she met her husband John, marrying in 1966. They moved to West Orange and later to Ewing Township before settling in Holmdel in 1984. She was a parishioner of St. Benedict’s RC Church, Holmdel.
Nuala always prided herself on raising her three sons with John, and was always following the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. In her spare time, she and her husband loved to travel, especially on cruises, and of course returning to Ireland periodically to see family and friends.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed making her home look beautiful. She was a fan of Irish music such as songs by the Irish Tenors, and you could always find her humming The Fields of Athenry or Danny Boy as she went about her day. She also enjoyed hosting holidays including Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as birthday parties for her family.
Her husband John Patrick Teevan, Jr. predeceased her in June 2017.
