PATRICIA L. WHELAN, 77, of MIDDLETOWN, passed away at home on Saturday, December 13th. She was born in Spring Lake N.J., grew up in New Jersey, moved on to Ohio, and then returned to New Jersey. A Graduate of Mary Washington College, she did her graduate work at Rutgers University. Patricia taught for many years in both New Jersey and Ohio. She was a communicant of St. Catharines R.C.Church in Holmdel. Predeceased by her husband Charles, she is survived by her sons Charles and his wife Danette, Andrew, Michael and his wife Joanne, Matthew and his wife Barbara, her daughters Kathleen, and Mary and her husband Kevin Glynn, and her grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Luke, Connor, and Coleen. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her. Visitation will be at the Holmdel Funeral Home 26-South Holmdel Road, Holmdel, on Monday from 2 to 4PM and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Catharines R.C.Church, Holmdel on Tuesday at 9:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory would be appreciated The American Cancer Society, 6725 – Lyons Street, Syracuse, NY 13057.

To Charles, Andy, Mike, Matt, Mary and Kathy - I was so sad to hear of Aunt Pat's passing. I have tremendous memories of her and of Uncle Charles - spending time with the Whelan clan - there was nothing better! :) I was blessed to have time with Aunt Pat when Hannah and I lived in Mukilteo during the holidays. Mom was there, too. Aunt Pat had a way of making Hannah, then 3, now 17, feel very special and loved... She had that ability with everyone! I wish we were closer and could spend time with each other now. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since we have been together. Know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. I sat in church Sunday after receiving your call and thanked God that you had the strength to make calls to your Mother’s friends. Pat holds a very special place in my heart.
