Patricia Masica, 55 of Toms River (formally of Monmouth Beach) passed away at Monmouth Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Brooklyn and was raised in Monmouth Beach, graduating from Shore Regional High School in 1985. She worked at Shrewsbury State Bank for many years. She lived in Monmouth Beach raising her 3 children before moving to Brielle and finally settling in Toms River.
Trish was an active member of the Monmouth Beach Ladies Auxiliary. She was Vice-President in 1996 and 2006, Financial Secretary in 2001 and 2002 and President in 2004 and 2005. She also volunteered her time with the Monmouth Beach Grammar School, participating in fund raisers, class trips and classroom parties. Trish was always the life of the party. She loved to sing and dance and would steal a microphone at any given chance. She loved to have her picture taken and would jump in the background even if she barely knew the people in the picture. Growing up as a big sister, she thoroughly enjoyed scaring the crap out of her siblings but also loved taking them to the movies or an amusement park. No one was a stranger to Trish. She had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh and truly had a knack for making people laugh.
She loved spending time with family and friends and will be missed by many. We know she is at peace now and is up in heaven singing Sweet Home Alabama and taking her place as the life of the party.
She was predeceased by her parents Robert D. Ruland in 2011 and Patricia L. Ruland in December of 2022. Surviving are three sons, Joseph, Kevin and Kyle Masica, all of Monmouth Beach; her grandson, Troyce Masica; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. And Rebecca J. Ruland, Oceanport; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and John Feeny, Fair Haven and Renee and Shane Toop, Boonville, NC; and her good friend, Frank Wellinghorst.
