Patricia Rise, a long-time resident of Holmdel, died Tuesday the 13th of October at Bayshore Community Hospital. Pat was 74 years old and surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Born November 16, 1940, in Amsterdam, NY, to Raymond and Virginia D'Onofrio, Pat received her degree from the University of Rochester. Over the years she worked as a math and computer science teacher, programmer and self-employed consultant. Her calm, capable presence, eternal optimism, and wildly intelligent sense of humor will be dearly missed by her family. Pat was an esteemed Girl Scout volunteer and friend for over 50 years. She earned the most prestigious volunteer awards for being a volunteer troop leader, trainer, mentor, and supporter. She touched the lives of thousands of girls and made the world a better place. She leaves an everlasting memory of how to live the Girl Scout Promise and Law every day. Pat is survived by her husband of 51 years, Samuel Rise, son Kevin Rise and wife Andrea and children Abigail and Adam, daughter Sharon Bally and husband Dave and daughter Heather, daughter Gloria Aderton and husband Harry and children Christopher, Benjamin and Jonathan, as well as a brother, Raymond D'Onofrio, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Saturday October 24, 2015, from 11am – 1pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S.
