Ralph R. Russo, 92 of Marlboro died on Wednesday, September 29.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Elvira and Carmine Russo.
He attended Brooklyn Automotive High School and worked at his father’s speakeasy, “Talk of the Town” while attending school. After high school, he joined the family business, Carmine Russo and Sons’ Recycling, where he eventually became the owner and worked until his retirement.
Ralph enjoyed hunting deer in upstate New York, and spending his mornings grocery shopping at Shoprite, where he made many friends. He was known for his Limoncello recipe, and was very generous to his neighbors. He was the oldest member of the Bay Ridge Rod and Gun Club and was vital in helping build their gun range. Most of all, Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family especially during the holidays where his Italian heritage shined.
He is predeceased by his wife, Lois Russo, and his siblings Anna, Vincent, Genevieve and Thomas.
Surviving are his children, Thomas and his wife Kimberly Russo of Ohio, Lois Cohen of Colts Neck, and Barbara Russo of Colts Neck, eight loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, October 1 from 3-7pm at Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Interment on Saturday, October 2 at 11am at Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th St, Brooklyn, NY 11232.
