Alice.. I just learned of Rich's passing. I am so sorry. When I think of him, I will smile remembering the conversations we had when he came in for his dental cleanings! I will never forget his own dictionary of words and how we always ended up laughing at something during his visits. I never really knew if he was pulling my leg with a story or if he was telling me the truth! I do know for a fact though, that he was a kind, caring, funny gentlemen who I am glad I had the pleasure to know and be of service to.. He will be missed and thought of fondly. I will keep you in my prayers that God will look down on you and continue to give you the strength that you have always shown..What a wonderful wife you were to him! Joann

I remember your thoughfulness. You and Alice welcomed us to the neighborhood even as we were looking at our house before we bought it in 1974. You made us feel that this was our home. I will miss your laugh. Your deep laugh. I look forward to hearing that laugh again. Much love, the Ceppaluni's

Sorry to hear this news, but we know that Rich is in a good place now without any more suffering. After I got the news from MaryAnn, I got up and walked over to some of the pictures hanging on the wall in my office at home, and there was a picture of Rich - hanging out with the TI boys in the summer of '76 in his backyard in NJ. I have very fond memories of the times I got to see him and Alice years ago. May God bless him.

Although we were only around Rich a few times because we live in Fort Thomas, KY (Mary Ann de Sante's home town), we remember him as always being extremely friendly and easy to talk with. He always was interested in us and our family. His smile and loud jovial voice filled the room and lifted everyone's spirit. He will be missed by everyone whose life he touched.

Though I miss him dearly, I am glad he is comfortable now. There are certain memories I will never forget. ~Adding jelly to his jelly donuts ~Convincing me that Norbert, Dorbert, and Gorbert were Huey, Duey, and Luey's cousins ~teaching me to play cards and then teasing me that he would take me to the riverboats to play for money ~Dressing up as the Phantom and surprising Colleen and I on Halloween ~Dancing with Colleen and I at his 70th birthday ~Yelling "swing" at a crucial at bat during 3rd grade softball ~Chasing the tram down at Disney World...because he was tired of walking ~Visiting me at college and reading my physics textbook...just because he was curious what I was learning

Rich DeSante will always be in my heart. He cared about all of us "kids" on Fulton Avenue, and influenced us all as we grew up to become who we are today. His fantastic sense of humor, his guiding hand, his love for life, and most importantly for me his unending encouragement of my career choice, will never be forgotten. My deepest sympathies to Alice, Karen, Ricky, and all the rest, on his passing. May God be gentle with this great soul, and I hope I get to see him when it's my turn.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Some memories I have are the feelings of welcome into your WLB home as a friend of Karen's... The time the electricity went out and a whole bunch of us sat by your fireplace to stay warm and tell ghost stories... The Hilda-bean with her floppy ears! The many card parties held at your house in summertime... fun times!

Dearest De Santes - I remember when Poppie and Nana came to Princeton to have dinner with Jenn - it must have been eight years ago by now. Poppie was wearing dark green plaid pants - he and Nana were full of fun stories and asked how college was treating us all. He had his walking stick; he and Nana didn't mind the loud noise in the dining hall - sitting on hard wooden chairs, or dining hall food. It was just fun times to visit and have dinner with their granddaughter. I know from stories Jenn tells that Poppie must have lived such a wonderful, lovely life with so many loved ones. I am so sorry for your loss. All my love, Stacy
