Richard Joseph Serluco, 58, of Holmdel, passed away Wednesday, October 18th surrounded by his family, following complications from a heart attack last week.
Richard was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Long Island before his family ultimately settled in Holmdel in 1976. Richard attended Holmdel High School where he played football, golf and wrestled. After graduating high school in 1983, Richard started his working career as a carpenter and then spent over 25 years as a sales associate at Home Depot and Dearborn Market where he was affectionately known as “Richie Boots.” Richard married the love of his life, Kathleen, in 2017.
Richard was an avid golfer, Rangers, Jets and Yankees fan. He was an outdoors man who loved to maintain his garden, chop wood for his family and loved to be around his family especially for holidays and Sunday dinners. He always had a smile on his face and was willing to help anyone in need.
Richard is predeceased by his mother, Augustine; and his sister, Maria De Sousa.
Richard is survived by his wife Kathleen; his children Ashley Coffield and her husband Jarid, Sarah, Rylley, Coleman and Tatum; his father Richard Serluco and his wife Theresa; his siblings Michael Serluco and his wife Jennifer, Tom Serluco and his wife Maria, and Nicole Serluco; his brother-in-law Mario De Sousa, his nieces and nephews Anthony, Joseph, Kristen, Nicholas, Christopher, Alexis, Jessica, and Andrew; and great-nieces Raylee and Lila; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday, October 21st and 22nd from 4:00-8:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. A mass will be offered Monday, October 23rd at 10:30 AM at St. Catharine’s RC Church, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel.
