Dear Christopher I was concerned and after a search I saw this news. I am so sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences. Your dad, Richard, was a mentor to me when I was at SVA and we stayed in touch after I left. He was so supportive and often checking in. He showed kindness and was always concerned about who I was, behind the work - if that makes sense? Over the past few years, after your mother Betsy passed away we could be in contact touching base now and then and he would share stories and news of Barlu and him. How is Barlu? Your father was kind to me after I lost my father, he guided my work in a way that was attentive but also very clear and honest. He spoke so fondly of you and your mother and he shared his recent book of creative writing with me. I hope that you are supported in this time. I am from South Africa and live in Cape Town, may I ask you to kindly put a pot of white daisy's somewhere that is significant to your dad and Barlu, on my behalf? Please feel free to contact me at any time. With love, Monique Pelser
